Why do birds suddenly appear? Well if they’re art birds they don’t just appear, they take months of blood, sweat and tears to create. Also paint. My point is – I like birds.

Don’t Have a Cow Man – Veg*n drinks @ Gasometer
Giving up drinking for a month is a piece of piss. Going vegan for a month well that’s… actually pretty easy too. There’s a whole lot of reasons why you might be giving it a go – maybe it’s your health, maybe it’s the environment, maybe you just want to make yourself more attractive to people who like to consider the wider impact of their food choices. One place to meet such people is Veg*n drinks @ Gasometer. To celebrate and support vegan easy challenge month, Easy As Vegan Pie is hosting a social event at Gasometer. It’s billed as a friendly inclusive event that welcomes people of all diets.
What: Food and social
When: 25 March 7.00PM
Where: Gasometer, 484 Smith St, Collingwood

Cut And Uncut
I Love You Phillip Morris is a great film. It has big name stars (Jim Carey, Ewan McGregor), it was produced by Luc Besson and directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (Bad Santa). It’s funny, it’s original and easily holds its own against anything the Farrelly brothers have to offer. Hall Pass opened to 2,950 screens in the US. I Love You Phillip Morris opened to 6. Two years after it’s premier at Sundance it still hasn’t found real distribution in Australia. I’ll leave you to speculate why that might be. One place you can see it is as part of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
What: Queer Film Festival
When: Now till 27th March
Where: City / South Side

Hide and Seek Market
Despite the name, this market is easy enough to find. It’s also not a very good place to play hide and seek.  A good market to buy cute things that you probably don’t need but will most likely bring you or someone else feelings of joy. It’s also got lotsa coffee.
What: Craft Market
When: 27th March 11.00AM-5.00PM
Where: 1000 Pound Bend, 361 Lt. Lonsdale St, Melbourne
