Ox Rabbit: Your new favourite lockdown treat

What’s better than a fudge brownie and a delectable piece of gooey, rich chocolate? Well, combining the two, of course. As Melburnians grimly endure another extended lockdown, Ox Rabbit may be hailed as the saviour of 2021 with their same-day delivery service, straight to your front door. These sweet morsels of cookie and brownie goodness are bound to brighten your day and make the hard, monotonous yards, a bit easier to bear.

Based in Fitzroy North, Ox Rabbit is the brainchild of Iain Sheppard. The core collection of treats includes brownies, cookies and cakes. Their range of gluttonously indulgent snacks are topped with anything and everything – Oreos, Maltesers, Tim Tams, mint chocolate, Nutella, or Lotus Biscoff biscuits and spread. To put it simply: TO. DIE. FOR.

Milk Bar was lucky enough to sample the Melbourne Brownie Box. Wowed by the decadent display of nine brownie bricks sitting neatly in the box, we eyed off the Lotus Biscoff brownie first. Among the standouts were the cookies and cream, Tim Tam and Maltesers flavours. As a non-fan of mint chocolate, I begrudgingly devoured it and couldn’t deny how satisfying it was.

For the cookie monsters out there – myself included – the range of loaded cookies is perfect for an arvo tea pick-me-up, a post-dinner snack or a lockdown-meltdown moment. The Loaded Cookie Box comes in sizes of 9, 12 or 18 cookies. Rich, sugary and dense, the cookies are made from Ox Rabbit’s famous cookie dough. Take a bite of their brownies or cookies and expect to find a chocolatey surprise in the form of a generous serving of Nutella, Caramilk, marshmallow or chocolate chips.

Ox Rabbit are doing some great things at the moment. They have teamed up with family-owned-and-run eatery Café Piccante to launch a Beyond Blue campaign. Running until Friday 10 October, locals can enter a raffle to win a box filled with Ox Rabbit’s decadent desserts (each valued at $100).

‘With the impact of the pandemic and recent lockdown extension, the need for mental health awareness and support is more critical than ever before. We feel there’s no better way to bring the community together than through coffee and cake, and with Café Piccante being our local café, this collaboration was the perfect fit,’ says Iain Sheppard, Managing Director, Ox Rabbit.

Ox Rabbit offer same-day delivery to over 150 suburbs in Melbourne. They also deliver across Australia, so let’s talk about that instant reward gratification.

Melt-in-the-mouth sweetness never looked so good. Order a box of Ox Rabbit’s treats for a loved one, a friend or yourself. You won’t regret it.

Somewhere Else video sings of summer

It almost sounds like the premise of a reality TV show: pile a bunch of artists in a bus for seven days, send them across Mexico and see what happens.
